Old Age

Dignity, in every season of life.

A society is judged by the way it treats its elderly. Our Elder Lives Matter campaign ensures no senior citizen feels forgotten — through care, healthcare, nutrition and consistent human companionship.

What we do

Ageing well is a right, not a privilege.

The men and women who once nurtured families, built communities and contributed to society now deserve care, dignity and respect in their later years. Unfortunately, many senior citizens today face loneliness, neglect, abandonment, financial insecurity, poor health and emotional distress.

Elder Lives Matter is our compassionate initiative dedicated to supporting elderly individuals — especially those who are abandoned, neglected, vulnerable or living without adequate family support. We serve seniors in their own homes and through partner old-age homes with daily essentials, monthly groceries, healthcare check-ups and — most importantly — steady human companionship.

Our volunteers visit regularly, listen to stories, write letters, organise small gatherings and connect seniors with government pension schemes they're entitled to. Ageing well is a right, not a privilege — and we honour that by showing up consistently.

Our pillars

What guides our work

Care

Essential support, healthcare, nutrition and daily assistance to elderly individuals in need.

Dignity

Every senior citizen treated with respect, compassion and honour — never spoken down to, always spoken with.

Companionship

Reducing loneliness through emotional support, weekly visits and community participation.

Empowerment

Helping elderly individuals live independently through access to services, entitlements and support systems.

Focus areas

Where we go deep

Free health check-up camps

Regular medical screening camps for blood pressure, diabetes, vision, bone health, chronic illnesses and general health — with referrals to partner hospitals for further treatment when needed.

Elder Care Support Kits

Distribution of essential supplies — groceries, medicines, hygiene products, blankets and clothing — customised for elderly households and delivered directly to the doorstep, monthly.

Companionship programme

Volunteers and community members engage with elderly individuals through weekly visits, conversations, letter-writing, festival visits and small recreational activities that counter loneliness and depression.

Community care networks

Neighbourhood support networks for seniors who live alone — a local point of contact, a check-in call, and someone who notices when something is wrong.

Emergency support

Immediate assistance during medical emergencies, hospital visits and family crises — with volunteer accompaniment where family isn't around.

Rights & entitlements

Help with pension applications, government welfare schemes, banking, documentation and awareness of legal rights — because knowing your entitlements is often the first barrier to accessing them.

Who we serve

The campaign supports abandoned senior citizens, elderly individuals living alone, economically disadvantaged seniors, widowed and vulnerable elderly women, elderly persons with health challenges, and residents of old-age homes and community shelters.

Our commitment

At Hope Givers, we believe that ageing should never mean abandonment. Every elderly person deserves respect, care and the opportunity to live their later years with dignity and happiness.

Elder Lives Matter is more than a campaign — it is a promise to stand beside those who once stood for us.

How you can support

Sponsor an elder's monthly care — healthcare, nutrition and essentials. Volunteer your time as a companion or letter-writer. Partner with us as a healthcare institution or corporate through CSR-funded elder programmes. Donate to help provide medical care, food and emotional support to those who need it most.
