Currently there are 138 million elderly living in India. As childhood days, this age also requires care, protection and support. Aging comes with many challenges. Growing older means no jobs, hence less incomes. Issues ranging from health to finance to many social discrimination at the family level to societal level are the few issues elderly people have to grapple with on their day to day life, being considered as a liability, many are forced to live their life in the old age home when they require the support and care of their families the most. Mistreatment and abuse of the elderly is a major social problem.
